Whenever travelling I like to do assignments. I don’t plan them, they just emerged. Porto in the north of Portugal, is a beautiful city that has been undergoing a tremendous work of rehabilitation in architecture and urbanism, for the past 20 years. It is now a major attraction to tourists, not only for the surrounding vineyards of the port wine, but because of the natural beauty of the city, a mix between modern architecture and old buildings, much darker than Lisbon due to the use of different types of stone available in that area. So, in downtown, I found a mix of old façades, with new restored ones, lots of local businesses, that recover traditional arts and crafts. Welcome to ‘Porto façades’.
